    This fund directly supports CTF’s ability to provide matching funds and grants made to families after the death of a loved one. Donations to this account are tax-deductible. CTF uses the funds raised in this account to provide immediate relief to families in crisis.

  • Transportation Worker Emergency Relief Fund

    This fund supports workers and their families who lose their homes as a result of natural disasters like wildfires, floods and earthquakes. Your support helps transportation workers who have lost their homes in a declared state of emergency. Donations to this fund are tax deductible.

  • CTF Memorial Signs Fund

    CTF manages donations for Memorial Signage Funds. CTF will match donations to this fund dollar for dollar up to $5,000. Current Memorial Signage efforts are open for Annette Brooks and Caltrans District 7 Fallen Worker Memorial Donations to this account are tax deductible.

  • Mahdi Khorram Memorial Fund

    Mr. Khorram, a Caltrans District 4 worker, was struck by an asphalt truck backing up in the construction closure on HWY 4 in Contra Costa. He is survived by his loving wife Sanaz and their daughter Sevada. CTF is matching donations since his death was work-related. Donations to this fund are NOT tax deductible.

  • Royce Hiner Memorial Fund

    Royce Hiner, a Caltrans District 2 Maintenance employee and a 2021 Medal of Valor recipient, passed away on September 10, 2025. Over the past year, Mr. Hiner and his family have faced immense challenges, both emotionally and financially due to on-going medical issues. Now, with his passing, the need for support is even greater. Royce leaves behind a spouse and three young children.

    CTF is not matching donations since his death was not work related.

  • Norberto Coronado Assistance Fund

    Norberto Coronado, a Caltrans District 9 Equipment Operator Based at the Inyokern yard, was hit by an impatient driver that entered a closure under one-way traffic control on State Route 178. The vehicle began to move and ran over Norberto's legs and feet. He was taken to the hospital in Ridgecrest, CA.

  • Tamra Rowley Memorial Fund

    Tamra Rowley, a Caltrans employee, who lost her battle to cancer on July 17, 2025. Tamra faced a reoccurrence of cancer with strength and grace after being re-diagnosed in May 2025.

  • Cynthia Hoffman Memorial Fund

    Cynthia Hoffman, a Caltrans 11 Design Manager, passed away suddenly from medical complications on July 18, 2025. She is survived by her husband Victor Paz and three children. She was the primary income earner for her family.

    Cynthia was a native of San Diego who graduated with both a bachelor’s and a Master's Degree in Civil Engineering from San Diego State University.

    She started at Caltrans District 11 in 2001 and received the CTF Jacob Dekema Scholarship. She was promoted to Design Manager in the Design Division in November 2022.

  • Alexander Rodish, fallen Caltrans worker

    Alexander Rodish Memorial Fund

    Mr. Rodish, a Caltrans District 12 maintenance employee, was tragically killed in the line of duty when he was struck by a vehicle on the I-5 North onramp after another accident had occurred in the area. Donations to this account are NOT tax deductible.

  • Thomas "Joe" Byrd and his children.

    Thomas "Joe" Byrd Memorial Fund

    Thomas "Joe" Byrd, a Caltrans District 2 Hayfork Maintenance employee, passed away unexpectedly on June 3, 2024 due to an unforeseen medical event. Joe left behind two young children. Colleague eCtablished this Memorial Fund to provide support for the bereft family. Donations to this account are NOT tax deductible.
