Support for Transportation Workers and Their Families

We offer 3 types of help:

The California Transportation Foundation’s (CTF) Injured and Fallen Worker and Emergency Relief (IF&ER) Fund program was established to help California all transportation industry employees and their families who are in need of financial assistance because of death, injury and natural disaster. The program was established to aid employees during crucial times when quickly available funding is critical to meet the sudden costs of emergencies.

 

Fallen Worker Grants

Amount: $2500

Eligible Recipients: families of fallen transportation workers killed in the line of duty

Eligible Uses: Defray funeral costs, travel for family members to travel to memorial services, payment for expenses not covered by employer life insurance.

Additional Info: Grants are funded by donations to our Injured and Fallen Worker Fund and are tax deductible.

 

Assistance and Memorial Funds

Amount: Donations made directly to these accounts are matched by CTF up to $7500

Eligible Recipients: Workers who have been injured while on the job, families of fallen workers.

Eligible Uses: There are no restrictions on the use of these funds.

Additional Info: 100% of the donated monies are given to the beneficiaries of assistance or memorial accounts. CTF does not charge an administrative fee for managing assistance and memorial accounts. Donations to individual memorial or assistance accounts are not tax deductible.

Emergency Relief Grants

Amount: up to $2000

Eligible Recipients: Transportation workers who have lost their home due to natural disaster

Eligible Uses: funds can be used to defray temporary housing costs and more

Additional Information: Grants are funded by donations to our Emergency Relief Fund and are tax deductible.
